JB Bussink's Cake Factory

Nowadays, Deventer Cake is only baked in the Jb Bussink cake factory. In 2018 this company celebrated its 425th anniversary. Bakkerij Schutte (taken over by Bussink in 1886) was registered in the Deventer bakers' guild in 1593. Over the years, Bussink has taken over other cake bakeries, including Klopman Baerselman (founded in 1682). Until 1952, the Bussink factory was still located in Deventer city centre. That year, it moved to the current location on Hanzeweg. The Deventer Cake Shop was opened on the town square de Brink.
